Little Miss Organized

The other night Ben was putting away the left overs, and as he was searching in our rubbermaid cabinet he became a bit frustrated with the disorganization of the cabinet and began to throw things out on the floor. I call this cabinet our "angry cabinet", because I always get frustrated when I am looking for something.

Well, Lydi heard the commotion in the kitchen, and went in to see what was going on. When she walked in, she saw this mess and she said "Daddy, this is ridiculous and it makes me nervous!!!" It was hysterical. Ben and I both started laughing so hard! She definitely likes to have things neat and tidy, so she proceeded to help Ben clean up the mess.

Baby Shower

This picture needs some explanation, but basically we were taking a picture and right before we said "cheese" Marcelo planted a big kiss on Lydia. Ben didn't get the kiss on camera, but he did get the reaction.

One of my favorite things about Puerto Rico is how much the local people here value relationships. We were recently invited to our neighbor's baby shower, and it was quite the cultural experience (in a good way). We arrived an hour late, and we were some of the first people there. Ben went with me as well as the kids, because when I called to say I would be coming I was told that my whole family should come as well. I am used to going to a baby shower that is a room full of women and lasts maybe an hour or two. Well, not this baby shower! We arrived around 3:00 and we were on our home a little before 7:00.

It was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed spending some time out in the campo (country). It was nice to get out of the city and also to spend time with our neighbors and their family. We left very motivated to learn more Spanish! We hope to spend some more time with our neighbors soon. Their little girl is here and she is beautiful. What a joy our friendship has been with this family!!!

The Zoo

This was our second trip to the Mayaguez zoo, and it was just as fun as the first! We were excited to have G-Daddy and G-Mommy with us on this trip. We were able to see more of the animals, because it was a cloudy day, so they weren't all trying to hide from the blazing sun. We had a great time, and we loved having the G-parents with us!!!

Living Life Well

Our first year in Puerto Rico was spent visiting the doctor every couple of weeks, and since we moved into the new place we have not had a sick child at all! Praise the Lord, we are more certain now that environment was one of the biggest triggers for Lydia’s asthma flare ups, and Thomas was going down the same road. Nikki took Thomas in for his 10 month check-up this week, and that’s the first time we’ve been to the Dr. since Lydi got out of the hospital in Feb.,. so we are very thankful!

10 Months and Crawling!

TW was 10 months old on April 30^th. We feel like these past 10 months have felt like 10 weeks, it has flown by! He is growing so much, and now he is on the move! Nikki thought she was busy before, but now it’s at a whole new level. Lydia and TW love to play together, and he has even started the occasional hair pulling. It’s fun to watch them growing up together. We weren’t sure what it was going to be like having two so close, but so far it’s been so much fun!
